The washing machine blocks while washing

  • Perhaps the washing machine is not properly connected to the power supply.
Have you checked whether the plug is properly inserted into the socket? Does the socket you are using work? To check, plug another appliance into it (e.g. hair dryer).
  • The water supply valve may be shut.
Ensure that the water supply valve has been properly opened.
  • Certain washing machine programmes (e.g. Delicate, Synthetic) interrupt if there is water in the tub.
You can modify the programme manually and restart the washing machine.
  • The washing machine may not drain properly.
Check whether the drain pump or drain outlet function properly: remove any foreign bodies from the pump. Try detaching the drain hose and emptying any residual water in it.

The washing machine's spin cycle does not seem to work

  • Perhaps the Easy Iron button has been pressed. This option activates the spin cycle but at lower speed (i.e. fewer rpm).
Are you using the Easy Iron option? Try cancelling the option from the programme.
  • The washing machine drains water before each spin cycle: this may not occur if the drain pump or hose are clogged up.
Check whether the drain pump or drain outlet function properly: remove any foreign bodies from the pump. Try detaching the drain hose and emptying any residual water in it.
  • The load you have inserted into the machine may be unbalanced: in this event, the washing machine blocks the spin cycle to prevent excessive vibration.
Check whether you have not loaded the machine beyond the limits outlined in the user manual.
  • The load you have inserted into the machine may be unbalanced: in this event, the washing machine blocks the spin cycle to prevent excessive vibration.
Check whether you have not loaded the machine beyond the limits outlined in the user manual.

Garments are torn during washing

  • This kind of problem may be due to foreign bodies in the drum (e.g. coins, buttons).
Carefully remove any foreign bodies from the drum.
  • Gum residues on clothing may cause garments to tear during spin cycles above 1,000 rpm.
Check whether the washing machine has not been loaded beyond the prescribed limit. If the problem continues in the next wash cycle, we recommend fixing an appointment with our technician.
  • Are you using bleach correctly?
Do not add bleach together with the detergent. Bleach must be released into the machine during cold wash cycles and must thus be added into a specific compartment.
  • Particularly delicate garments (e.g. lingerie) may be damaged during spin cycles.
Try inserting "lightweight" laundry into special laundry bags or inside pillow cases.

The wash cycles are noisy

  • In order to carry out wash cycles correctly and silently, the washing machine must be placed on a level surface.
Check whether the feet have been correctly levelled and that they are not damaged.
  • When installing the washing machine, the tub packaging screws located at the rear end of the machine must be removed.
Check whether the packaging screws have been removed and that these and other plastic fixing elements have not fallen inside the washing machine (try tilting the machine slightly forward to remove them).
  • The washing machine may be noisy during wash cycles if foreign bodies are inside the drum.
Look carefully through the porthole door and check whether the pump is also free of foreign bodies.
  • If you are using a laundry ball, the noise may be due to the latter's movement inside the drum.

The washing machine emits a noise resembling a high-frequency hiss

  • The noise you hear is typical of washing machines that mount brush motors.
Consult the user manual to determine the type of washing machine you purchased: if it corresponds to a model with brush motor, the level of noise you hear is normal.

The machine does not rinse properly and detergent residues remain after washing

  • Excessive or incorrect use of detergents (e.g. hand washing detergents) and additives may produce excessive foam and leave residues.
Check the amount and type of detergents and additives you use for washing. Powder detergents must not be used for washing dark coloured garments or for rapid 30-minute cycles, but only for cotton cycles and at temperatures above 40°C.
  • Differences in water hardness levels across regions may have an impact on the detergent's effectiveness.
Run the Extra Rinse cycle at the end of the wash cycle.
  • Do you often use liquid detergent?
If you often use liquid detergent, we recommend the following simple maintenance operation on the washing machine: simply run a high-temperature wash cycle with the machine empty every 6 months.

I am not satisfied with my washing machine's performance

  • Particularly stubborn or dry stains may be difficult to remove.
We recommend pre-treating the most stubborn stains and dirt before inserting laundry into the washing machine. However, certain types of stubborn dirt (e.g. oil stains) will not go away when washed in water but only through dry cleaning.
  • What kind of detergent are you using?
Powder detergent is more effective than liquid detergent when used on highly soiled cotton garments, for example.
  • Be careful with the washing programme you are using: it may not be suitable for the type of dirt.
Choose the most suitable programme according to the type of laundry and its degree of dirt.

Although I use a fabric softener, I do not notice any advantages for my laundry

  • Be careful with the fabric softener dosage.
The dosage must never exceed the "MAX" level indicated on the detergent compartment.

The wash cycle I set seems to last longer than that indicated in the user manual

  • Remember that the duration indicated in the user manual is purely indicative and varies according to the intake water temperature, room temperature, power supply voltage, weight and type of load.

I require clarifications as to how to wash woollen garments

  • Woollen garments are very delicate and require specific washing programmes.

I experience minor electric shocks when touching the washing machine

  • Probably your home's electrical circuit is not earthed. In this event, the machines's anti-interference filter, which normally disperses 3MA, discharges small electric shocks through the person touching the washing machine.
Check whether your home's electrical circuit has an earthing system, whether the latter is properly connected to the socket to which the machine is plugged into or whether the plug has an earth wire. If you have replaced the socket, check whether the earthing system was properly connected to it.
  • Have you inserted the SHUKO plug of the power supply cable directly into an ITALY-type socket? This type of connection does not guarantee earthing.
Change the power supply socket to which your washing machine cable is connected: always request assistance from expert and/or authorised personnel and use a suitable 16A adapter. Remember to always connect the earth wire.

The washing machine seems to consume too much energy

  • The washing machines are certified according to European regulations.
Avoid loading the washing machine excessively and check the maximum load capacity indicated on the user manual.

I fear that my washing machine does not intake sufficient water

  • Improved washing efficiency means reduced water consumption.

My washing machine switches on but does not start

  • The problem might be due to electronic interference, in which case a "reset" must be carried out.
Try switching the machine off by pressing the on/off button. Press the same button after a few seconds to restart the machine.

The porthole door cannot be opened: it seems blocked

  • For safety reasons, the door locking device ensures that the porthole door remains locked for 3 minutes at the end of each wash cycle.
Always check whether the wash cycle is actually finished.
  • If you have pressed either the Start-Pause/Start-Reset or On-Off button, the programmed wash cycle is interrupted: the porthole door remains locked if there is water in the drum or if the temperature exceeds the safety limit.
In order to complete the wash cycle, simply restart it by pressing the Start-Pause/Start-reset/On-Off button again.
  • The porthole door remains locked and the washing machine seems to have stopped with water in the drum.
Check the type of programme that was set and if there are any flashing LED lights.

The washing machine always seems to be in the water intake and drain phase

  • Check whether the drain hose was not squashed during installation.
Bear in mind that the drain hose must be fixed at a height of at least 60 cm.

I cannot understand when the washing machine completes the programmed wash cycle

  • The washing machine probably blocked during the washing phase.
Press and hold the START/RESET button to exit the programme then position the knob on the drain symbol and press the START/RESET button again.

Once the spin cycle ends, the drum rotates slowly but the wash cycle does not seem to end

  • The machine is in the post-care phase (laundry detachment) included in the easy iron option.
Press and hold the START/RESET or ON/OFF button to exit the programme: if the problem persists in the successive wash cycles, we recommend contacting a technician.

Why does the washing machine never intake water and why does it run very short wash cycles (approx. 3 minutes)?

  • The washing machine probably entered the Demo Mode which is included on several models.
Demo or "Test" will appear on the display. Press the Reset button to exit the function then simultaneously press and hold the ON/OFF and START/RESET buttons until "OFF" appears on the display.

The rinse phases of my Moon washing machine do not seem to run properly

  • The washing machine sensors detect the presence of detergent and automatically start the rinse programme: the intake of residual detergent in the detergent compartment increases the foam level and requires additional rinse cycles.
Be careful not to add garments that already contain detergent and if so, avoid adding further detergent.
